FAQ

Questions about MERCHED.

How it works, what you need, and what you get.

What does MERCHED do?

MERCHED turns your shop’s sales history, budget, and preferences into a seasonal buying plan: how much to spend, how many units and styles to carry, and which sizes to buy, by department, category, and brand. You review it, adjust it, and approve it.

What do I need to get started?

A shop profile, a planning season, and historical sales or order data provide the strongest starting point. Budget guardrails, category priorities, brand controls, inventory, and planning notes make the recommendation more specific when available.

How much sales history do I need?

Aim to upload at least two full years of actual sales, exported directly from your POS with as much product detail as possible. Planning from sales history alone requires data from at least two years. When sales history is limited, uploaded order or inventory data can also support a plan, with more assumptions to review. A file being accepted for upload does not mean every planning requirement has been met.

How do I upload my data?

After your workspace is set up, upload your historical sales from the data-upload area. You can also add current inventory and prior brand-order files. MERCHED reviews and normalizes the information, and flags records that need attention before you rely on them.

What’s in my buying plan?

Your total buy split by department, category, and brand, with units for each, a style count for every brand, suggested size curves, and delivery timing.

How do I plan styles?

Each brand in a category gets a number of styles to plan. Add each style’s name, number, color, and units; sizes fill in from the suggested size curve, and you can change any of them.

Can I change the recommendations?

Yes. Recommendations are a starting point. The merchandiser can adjust categories, brands, allocations, units, exclusions, style details, sizes, and timing before approving or exporting the plan.

Can I add or remove brands?

Yes. Add a brand to a category or remove one, and the units move between the other brands so the category still adds up to its plan.

What happens when I approve my plan?

The plan is marked approved and you can export it as a PDF or order sheet for each vendor. Nothing is final until you approve it.

Does MERCHED place orders for my shop?

No. MERCHED creates a reviewed planning and export handoff. Your team retains authority to revise, approve, reject, and place every order.

Does MERCHED replace or connect to my POS?

No. MERCHED is not a point-of-sale system. It uses exported planning data to help build and review the seasonal merchandise plan; transactions, payment, and day-to-day POS operations remain in your existing system. MERCHED currently works from sales, inventory, and order files you upload to the workspace. A direct POS integration is not presented as current product functionality.

What happens when I plan my next season?

Your historical uploads, shop profile, saved planning controls, and prior reviewed plan remain available as context for the next seasonal plan. You can update the inputs and review a new recommendation without losing the record of the earlier season.

How is my club’s data protected?

MERCHED maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Client Data. Access is limited to authorized workspace users and providers that operate the service. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive personal information, and see the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling details.

What does MERCHED cost?

$2,250 a year per club. That includes your planning workspace, your recommended buying plan, and personal support from MERCHED.
