Built for Golf. Not Adapted to It.

Golf shops aren’t traditional retail stores. Their planning software shouldn’t be either.

Why it matters

A golf buy is a set of connected decisions.

A golf calendar, not a retail calendar

Seasons, member events, tournaments, and delivery timing all shape the buy.

Product FAQ

Questions merchandisers should be able to ask.

What information does MERCHED need to get started?

A shop profile, a planning season, and historical sales or order data provide the strongest starting point. Budget guardrails, category priorities, brand controls, inventory, and planning notes make the recommendation more specific when available.

How much historical sales data do I need?

Aim to upload at least two full years of actual sales, exported directly from your POS with as much product detail as possible. Planning from sales history alone requires data from at least two years. When sales history is limited, uploaded order or inventory data can also support a plan, with more assumptions to review. A file being accepted for upload does not mean every planning requirement has been met.

How do I upload my data?

After your workspace is set up, upload your historical sales from the data-upload area. You can also add current inventory and prior brand-order files. MERCHED reviews and normalizes the information, and flags records that need attention before you rely on them.

Does MERCHED use customer or member data?

MERCHED uses the member-demand and shop-profile information entered for the club, such as club type, member mix, and planning context. It is not a customer-level personalization system.

How are recommendations created?

MERCHED combines the current shop profile, planning controls, and normalized sales and order history. It uses golf-specific category, season, brand, budget, inventory, and sizing logic to create an editable draft with rationale and confidence context.

What makes MERCHED specific to golf?

MERCHED is organized around golf-shop categories and the planning decisions that shape a golf buy: club context, seasonal demand, brand roles, category eligibility, budget guardrails, delivery timing, apparel sizing, and the review process before market.

Can I control which brands are recommended?

Yes. Brand roles, preferred brands, exclusions, category eligibility, vendor commitments, and spend limits are planning controls. The merchandiser can also revise allocations before approval.

Can I change MERCHED’s recommendations?

Yes. Recommendations are a starting point. The merchandiser can adjust categories, brands, allocations, units, exclusions, style details, sizes, and timing before approving or exporting the plan.

Does MERCHED replace the merchandiser?

No. MERCHED is decision-support software for the merchandiser. It preserves inputs, shows the recommendation context, and keeps buyer review and final approval in the workflow.

Does MERCHED replace my POS?

No. MERCHED is not a point-of-sale system. It uses exported planning data to help build and review the seasonal merchandise plan; transactions, payment, and day-to-day POS operations remain in your existing system.

Does MERCHED integrate with my POS?

MERCHED currently works from sales, inventory, and order files you upload to the workspace. A direct POS integration is not presented as current product functionality.

Will MERCHED create size or product recommendations?

When product and size information is available in your sales, order, or inventory data, MERCHED can use it in planning. Where evidence is incomplete, it identifies the limitation and uses visible assumptions instead of treating the output as certain.

How does MERCHED handle new products?

Add new brands and planning categories in the workspace, then review their role and allocation for the relevant category. New items do not have historical performance yet, so the merchandiser sets the planning intent and reviews the resulting plan before it is used.

What happens when I plan my next season?

Your historical uploads, shop profile, saved planning controls, and prior reviewed plan remain available as context for the next seasonal plan. You can update the inputs and review a new recommendation without losing the record of the earlier season.

Does MERCHED place orders for my shop?

No. MERCHED creates a reviewed planning and export handoff. Your team retains authority to revise, approve, reject, and place every order.

How is my club’s data protected?

MERCHED maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Client Data. Access is limited to authorized workspace users and providers that operate the service. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive personal information, and see the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling details.
